Vice President, Longevity Risk Transfer

William McCloskey leads international transactions for Prudential’s longevity reinsurance business. In this capacity, Bill has led and overseen the placement of ten longevity blocks reinsured by Prudential, amounting to over $12 billion in outstanding longevity reinsurance, servicing all of the top pension insurance books in the UK. Bill directly leads transaction activities with Legal & General and Pension Insurance Corporation. Prudential’s longevity reinsurance activities have led the firm to being named “Reinsurer of the Year” from Risk.net for the third consecutive year.

Bill originally joined Prudential in 1996 and has held various positions in Prudential Retirement and PGIM (formerly Prudential Investment Management), gathering expertise emphasizing structured financial transactions. Bill also spent two years as a credit officer at NATIXIS Capital Markets in their structured lending businesses before rejoining Prudential in 2004. Prior to joining Pension Risk Transfer in 2013, Bill led the Institutional Stable Value business as it grew rapidly by more than $70 billion to become the leading provider in its markets. Bill has a total of 19 years financial services industry experience.

Bill earned a B.A. in economics from Rutgers University and his M.B.A. from New York University’s Stern School of Business. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.
