Senior Vice President, Head of Pension Risk Transfer
Scott Kaplan is the senior vice president charged with overall responsibility for Prudential’s rapidly growing Pension Risk Transfer business, which serves approximately 4,100 clients and 1.4 million individuals.* Scott works with a staff of over 240 colleagues across multiple locations to deliver innovative solutions for Prudential’s clients.
Before assuming his current role, Scott was senior vice president and head of Global Product and Market Solutions for Prudential’s Investment & Pension Solutions business. He was a principal member of the team leading Prudential’s risk transfer and risk management strategies for pension plan sponsors, with a particular focus on sponsor-level financial and valuation impacts of various pension risk management strategies.
Scott previously served as the senior financial officer for Prudential’s U.S. Individual Life Insurance businesses, and was also a managing director within Prudential’s Treasurer’s Department, where he co-headed the Corporate Finance Group. During his time in Treasurer’s, Scott served as Prudential’s liaison with the rating agencies and was part of the core treasury team which led Prudential’s demutualization. Before joining Prudential, Scott was a credit analyst at Moody’s Investor Service. He began his career with Deloitte & Touche, LLP in the audit department.
Scott earned a B.A. degree in economics from Colgate University, and received an M.B.A. in finance from the New York University Leonard N. Stern School of Business. He is a CFA® Charterholder and a CPA.
